Project Overview: The Public Health and Municipal Engineering Department of the Government of Andhra Pradesh is undertaking a crucial project to enhance the water supply infrastructure in Rayachoty Municipality. With a total project cost of ₹86.09 Crores, this initiative includes the improvement of water supply arrangements, replacement of old distribution lines, and the laying of new distribution lines in extended areas of the municipality, along with the establishment of Elevated Level Service Reservoirs (ELSRs).

Project Components:

  1. Enhancement of Water Supply:
    • Upgradation of existing water supply infrastructure to increase the capacity and reliability of water distribution.
    • Implementation of modern technologies to optimize water supply management and ensure adequate supply to residents.
  2. Replacement of Old Distribution Lines:
    • Removal and replacement of aging and deteriorating water distribution lines to minimize leaks and water loss.
    • Installation of new, durable distribution lines to improve the efficiency and reliability of water supply.
  3. Laying of Distribution Lines in Extended Areas:
    • Extension of the water distribution network to cover newly developed or previously underserved areas of Rayachoty Municipality.
    • Laying of distribution lines in these extended areas to provide access to clean and potable water to all residents.
  4. Establishment of Elevated Level Service Reservoirs (ELSRs):
    • Construction of Elevated Level Service Reservoirs at strategic locations to store and distribute water efficiently.
    • Provision of adequate storage capacity to meet the demand for water during peak hours and emergencies.
