Client: Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA)
Project Cost: ₹12.94 Crores
Project Overview: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) is launching a critical project aimed at developing a sewage pipeline and Interception & Diversion (I&D) structures for Pedha Cheruvu, Mantrala Cheruvu, and Chandan Cheruvu in Saroornagar (M). This project is focused on improving the sewage management infrastructure to protect the local water bodies, enhance sanitation, and support sustainable urban development in the region.
Salient Features:
- Pipeline Work: Installation of 5.7 kilometers of pipeline with a diameter of 1200mm, designed to efficiently collect and transport sewage. This robust pipeline network is essential for managing the area’s sewage flow and preventing contamination of local water bodies.
- Interception & Diversion (I&D) Structures: Construction of I&D structures to intercept and divert sewage away from Pedha Cheruvu, Mantrala Cheruvu, and Chandan Cheruvu. These structures play a crucial role in protecting these water bodies from sewage pollution, ensuring cleaner and safer environments.
- Environmental Protection: By intercepting and diverting sewage, the project aims to significantly reduce the pollution levels in the local cheruvus (lakes), thereby enhancing the quality of water and contributing to the ecological balance.
- Improved Sanitation: The project will enhance the overall sanitation infrastructure in Saroornagar, reducing health risks associated with untreated sewage and improving the quality of life for residents.
- Sustainable Urban Development: This initiative supports HMDA’s broader goals of sustainable urban development by integrating efficient sewage management solutions that cater to the growing needs of the population.
This project is a strategic investment in the environmental and public health infrastructure of Saroornagar. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority is committed to delivering a high-quality sewage pipeline and I&D structure system that will significantly improve the area’s sanitation standards and environmental quality.
